Dr. Alex Hadwen-Bennett is a Senior Lecturer in Inclusion and STEM Education at King's College London, serving as the ECS Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Lead and Maker Space Lead. His work bridges neurodiversity experiences with inclusive education design, particularly in computing and STEM. He holds a PhD from King’s College (2022) and has over 20 years of experience in education as a teacher, examiner, and researcher.
Research focuses on accessibility innovations for learners with visual impairments, physical computing pedagogy, and culturally responsive teaching. He leads the 'STEM: Making and Creating' module in the PGCE Computing and MA STEM Education programs. Notable outputs include the TIBBL tool for inclusive programming and co-authored reports on England’s programming education disparities.
Active in King’s Centre for Research in Education in Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (CRESTEM), he has supervised PhD students exploring AR tools for geometry learning and computational thinking in primary education. His work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to widening STEM participation through making and tactile learning.
