Emma Stewart is a Researcher at the MRC/CSO Social & Public Health Sciences Unit (SPHSU), University of Glasgow. She holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Dundee and has extensive experience in refugee migration studies, health policy analysis, and social determinants of health. Her current work focuses on the Maternal and Child Health Network (MatCHNet), evaluating UK policies impacting maternal and child health through cross-country administrative data analysis.

Research Interests:
Emma’s work spans population studies with a focus on refugee mobility, migration flows, and integration. She employs mixed-methods approaches to examine policy impacts, including ESRC-funded research on UK dispersal policies and refugee integration. Current projects emphasize social determinants of health and geographical disparities affecting child welfare across the UK.
Key Contributions:
Her recent work includes policy reports on welfare grants, early years education, and Universal Credit systems. She has also led studies on ethical challenges in archiving refugee narratives and collaborated on infection prevention research. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges geography, public health, and social policy.
