Konstantinos Angelopoulos is a Professor of Economics at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, and holds an affiliation with the School of Health & Wellbeing. He joined the University in 2007 with degrees from Athens University of Economics and Business and the University of Warwick. His research focuses on dynamic general equilibrium, inequality, economic fluctuations, fiscal policies, and political economy, with notable projects exploring the origins of inequality in pre-modern societies and socio-economic health risks using historical data.
His research has been supported by grants from the ESRC, Scottish Funding Council (GCRF), and EU funds. Key collaborations include work with the MRC/CSO SPHSU, Lancaster University, and NGOs like Friends of Lake Turkana. He has published extensively on topics such as pandemic-induced inequality, historical disease patterns, and tax policy impacts.
Dr. Angelopoulos supervises PhD students in inequality dynamics and fiscal policy. His teaching includes courses on public economics, inequality policy, and macroeconomics. He is affiliated with CESifo in Munich and has contributed to policy briefings on post-pandemic mortality and wealth inequality.
