Dr Emma Richards is a Senior Research Fellow at Swansea University's Centre for Innovative Ageing and Centre for Ageing and Dementia Research within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Science. She serves as Principal Investigator for multiple funded projects including the UKRI Hearing Loss and Place (HeLP) initiative and a Welsh Research Innovation Fund project on otological symptoms in aging.
Emma holds a PhD in Psychology from Swansea University, where her research characterized vascular dementia through brain processing speed analysis. She also earned a Master's in Psychology (brain and aging) from the Open University and a PGCE from the University of South Wales. Her expertise spans vascular cognitive impairments, sensory changes in aging, public engagement in health research, and caregiver stress.
Her publications focus on:

- Implementation of dementia services in Swansea Bay
