Emily DeWitt, MS, RDN, LD, is a Lecturer and Acting Director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) at the University of Kentucky's Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment. She focuses on bridging academic concepts with real-world applications in food preparation, safety, and professional practice. Her work integrates community food systems and obesity research, informed by her prior experience with Cooperative Extension.
- Education: M.S. in Nutrition and Food Systems (University of Kentucky), B.S. in Dietetics (University of Kentucky)
Teaching Expertise: Courses include DHN 241: Food Service Sanitation, DHN 302: Principles of Food Preparation, DHN 342: Quantity Food Production, and DHN 597: Obesity and Food Insecurity Paradigm.
Professional Engagement: Active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and board member for the Kentucky and Bluegrass Academies of Nutrition and Dietetics.
