Emily Bass-Glinski serves as a Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of Theatre & Dance at Otterbein University, teaching Modern, Ballet, Jazz, and Choreography. She concurrently holds faculty positions at The Ohio State University's Department of Dance (teaching Contemporary Movement) and New Albany Ballet Company, and previously worked as Marketing and Events Coordinator at Broadway Dance Center in New York City.
Her educational background includes:
- BFA with honors from The Ohio State University’s College of Arts and Sciences Department of Dance, where she performed at the Ohio Dance Festival and The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Ms. Bass-Glinski's research centers on integrating diverse performance art elements to create accessible, political, and collaborative dance works. Her choreographic philosophy emphasizes bridging gaps between theatrical, political, and collaborative dimensions of movement. She has performed extensively with Ani Niemann’s The Dance Cartel since 2012 at venues including MoMA/PS1, BAM, The Brooklyn Museum, and Joe’s Pub, while drawing inspiration from interdisciplinary artist partnerships and student interactions.
She directed/choreographed Otterbein University’s production of Bright Star and conceived the 2023 Dance Concert Escape to Wonderland, demonstrating applied research in theatrical dance synthesis.
