Ellie Robson is a Lecturer in Ethics at King’s College London and a British Society for the History of Philosophy Postdoctoral Fellow. She holds affiliations as a Research Fellow at CASEP (2023-2025) and an Honorary Research Fellow at Birkbeck, University of London. Her work focuses on the intersection of meta-ethics, ethics, and the history of philosophy, particularly exploring underappreciated 20th-century figures like Mary Midgley through an Aristotelian lens. Robson completed her PhD at Birkbeck (2019-2023) and has taught at institutions including Merton College, Oxford, and Nottingham University.
Her research emphasizes expanding the philosophical canon to include women philosophers, such as Midgley, MacIntyre, and Nussbaum, within the Aristotelian tradition. She is Special Issues Editor at the Journal for the History of Analytic Philosophy, an Administrator of the Aristotelian Society, and a Board Member for the Women In Parenthesis Project.
Robson’s recent work includes a forthcoming Palgrave Macmillan volume on Mary Midgley’s moral philosophy and a project re-examining the history of 20th-century virtue ethics. She engages in public philosophy through podcasts, lectures, and editorship, advocating for accessible philosophical discourse.
