Ellen Malphrus, Ph.D., is a Professor of English at the University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB), where she also serves as a writer-in-residence. Her roles include teaching, research, and contributions to literary festivals such as the Pat Conroy Literary Festival. She is the author of the poetry collection Untying the Moon.
Her research focuses on Southern literature, existential themes, and archetypal hero narratives. Notable works include analyses of Pat Conroy’s The Prince of Tides and the poetry of William Eastlake.
