Elizabeth Tobin-Tyler is a Professor of Health Services, Policy and Practice at Brown University’s School of Public Health and of Family Medicine and Medical Science at Alpert Medical School. She holds dual appointments in two schools and teaches courses on health policy, public health law, and reproductive justice. Her research focuses on structural and legal determinants of health inequity, medical-legal partnerships, and reproductive justice. Tobin-Tyler has authored/co-authored over 60 publications, including seminal textbooks like Essentials of Health Justice, and has been recognized with awards from the National Academy of Medicine and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. She has held leadership roles in interdisciplinary education and policy advocacy, including work on maternal health, domestic violence, and social safety nets.
