Elizabeth Lindsey Rogers is an Assistant Professor of Creative Writing at Oberlin College, within the College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a BA from Oberlin College (2007) and an MFA from Cornell University (2011). Her work spans poetry, creative nonfiction, and LGBTQ+ cultural critique, with a focus on queer identity, Southern American culture, and femininity. Rogers has taught at institutions including Cornell University, Tulane University, and Shanxi Agricultural University in China, alongside community-based initiatives. She volunteers with the Veterans’ Writing Project and serves as a Consulting Editor at the Kenyon Review.
Her research interests emphasize intersectional narratives of queerness and place, with publications in POETRY, Boston Review, and West Branch. Recent works include Miss Southeast: Essays (2024), exploring queer identity in the American South, and the poetry collection Bad Cell (manuscript in progress). She has received grants from the D.C. Commission on the Arts, Ohio Arts Council, and Astraea Foundation.
Rogers currently teaches courses such as Queer Poetry and Nonfiction Workshop, and mentors students through practicum programs like Writers in the Schools. Her creative and scholarly work often bridges artistic collaboration (e.g., with musician Meredith Monk) and educational outreach.
