Dr. John Constantine Tobin is a Lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Maryland, affiliated with the College of Arts & Humanities. He teaches creative writing and LGBTQ literature, focusing on queer lineages, relationships between queerness and divinity, and ecological integration. Tobin is a Co-Founder of Merfolk Games in Shanghai.

His research explores global queer authorship and intersections of identity with environment and spirituality. Recent publications appear in Shenandoah Literary, Quarter After Eight, Beyond Queer Words, and others. He received a 2023 Juniper Summer Writing Institute scholarship.
Tobin’s creative work bridges poetry, nonfiction, and interdisciplinary projects. He actively contributes to literary communities in the U.S. and Asia through publishing and collaborative ventures.
