Elizabeth Kenny is a renowned lute player and Professor of Lute at the Royal Academy of Music since 1999, concurrently serving as Dean of Students since 2020. Previously, she held professorial roles at the University of Southampton and the University of Oxford. Her expertise lies in early music performance, specializing in Baroque and Renaissance repertoire.
Her discography includes critically acclaimed recordings such as Ars Longa (Linn Records) and collaborations with ensembles like Phantasm and Theatre of the Ayre, which she founded in 2007. Notable projects include recordings of Dowland’s Lachrime and John Blow’s Venus and Adonis.
