Elizabeth Alexander is an Associate Professor of Sculpture at Montserrat College of Art. Her work focuses on interdisciplinary art using cast paper and domestic materials to explore human behavior and emotional narratives embedded in everyday objects. She holds an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art, where she developed her practice of dissecting objects of nostalgia.
Her art has been exhibited nationally at institutions such as the Museum of Art and Design, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and the Nasher Museum at Duke University. Notable permanent collections include Crystal Bridges Museum and the Mint Museum. Her process involves labor-intensive techniques to reveal hidden emotional layers within domestic artifacts.
As an educator, Alexander contributes to Montserrat’s Sculpture concentration, fostering creative communities that value collaboration and interdisciplinary exploration. While no specific grants or awards are listed, her exhibitions reflect sustained recognition in contemporary art circuits.
