Britny Wainwright is a Visiting Assistant Professor and Director of Foundations Studies at Ohio State University. She holds an MFA in Ceramics from Ohio State University (2017) and a BFA from Alfred University (2012). Her sculptural practice employs ceramics, fiber, and mixed materials to explore domestic objects through a feminist material culture lens, advocating for assertive decorative language in gallery spaces.
Exhibitions include venues such as Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, New Britain Museum of American Art, and ROY G BIV Gallery. She has held residencies at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts, Main Street Arts, and The Torpedo Factory. Wainwright co-founded Dream Clinic Project Space in Columbus, Ohio, and teaches 3D design, drawing, sculpture, and ceramics.
Her work interrogates boundaries between domestic and public spaces, using floral patterns and repetitive marks to challenge modernist hierarchies. Though no academic articles are listed, her artistic output engages themes of material agency, craft feminism, and the politics of decoration.
