Thomas Ian serves as an Associate Professor of Ceramics and Sculpture at Allegheny College, with additional roles including Esports Head Coach. His academic background includes an MFA from Texas Tech University and a BFA from Slippery Rock University.

His work has been featured in over a dozen publications and includes collaborations like To Nowhere (2019) at Hunter College’s Thomas Hunter Project Space. Thomas explores paradoxes of fragility and violence in works such as The Treachery of Guns (cast glass gun components) and Relics of Burden (school chair/stuffed animal installation). He employs pedagogical metaphors and historical references, including Rembrandt and American Gothic, to critique contemporary cultural norms.
