Professor M. Soledad Caballero is a faculty member in the English Department at Allegheny College. She holds a B.A. from Appalachian State University and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Tufts University. Her research focuses on British Romanticism, travel writing, post-colonialism, and interdisciplinary studies. She has co-edited works like Journal of a Voyage to Brazil (1824) and published poetry collections such as I Was a Bell (Red Hen Press, 2021).
Her creative work includes poems featured in Missouri Review and VIDA Review, earning awards like the Joy Harjo Poetry Prize. Her academic publications explore intersections of emotion regulation, collaborative pedagogy, and transatlantic masculinities in historical contexts. She collaborates frequently with Dr. Aimee Knupsky on cognitive literary studies and interdisciplinary education projects.
Awards include the SWWIM contest win for “Before an MRI: Questionnaire” and recognition in Cutthroat Literary Review. Her teaching integrates creative writing with critical analysis, emphasizing multidisciplinary approaches to literature. Office located at Odd Fellows 215.
