Soledad Caballero is Professor of English and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) at Allegheny College, where she also serves as co-chair of the WGSS program. Her academic and creative work bridges literary scholarship, interdisciplinary pedagogy, and poetry.

Her research focuses on British Romanticism, travel writing, postcolonial literatures, and gender studies, with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinarity and cognitive literary studies. She explores how memory, emotion, and identity intersect in both historical and personal narratives.
Her recent publications include scholarly essays on emotion regulation in Romantic drama and interdisciplinary teaching methods, as well as a critically acclaimed poetry collection, I Was a Bell (2021), which examines immigration, trauma, and bodily illness. Her second poetry collection, Flight Plan, is forthcoming in 2025. The articles and creative works collectively reflect themes of memory, migration, embodiment, and feminist reinterpretation across genres.
Her awards include the 2021 International Association of Autoethnography and Narrative Inquiry Award, a Gold Medal in the 2022 International Latino Book Awards, the 2019 Benjamin Saltman Poetry Award, and the 2019 Joy Harjo Poetry Prize. She is a CantoMundo fellow and has been nominated for two Pushcart Prizes.
Caballero has secured significant grants, including a National Endowment for the Humanities Connections Grant and a Great Lakes Colleges Association Expanding Collaborations Initiative Grant, supporting her collaborative and interdisciplinary research. She mentors students in literature, WGSS, and creative writing, though specific advisees are not listed. Her work is deeply collaborative, especially in pedagogical and editorial projects.
She is currently editing a volume in the Parlor Press Travel Writing Series and continues to publish poetry in leading journals such as Poetry Northwest and Tinderbox Journal.
