Elizabeth A. Connor

Elizabeth A. Connor is a Professor and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education and Development at the University of Massachusetts. She holds a Ph.D. in Neurobiology from the University of Vermont School of Medicine and has been conducting research on neuromuscular junctions since her postdoctoral training at Stanford University (1982-1987).

• Neuromuscular Junction: Development and Maintenance
• Role of glial Schwann cells and extracellular matrix molecules
• Stability of nerve terminals without target muscle fibers
• Activity-dependent synaptic remodeling
• Neuroglial interactions in synaptic maintenance

Methodologies: In vivo confocal microscopy, fluorescent probes, and repeated imaging of living frog nerve terminals.
