Susan Brooks

Susan Brooks is a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan. Her research focuses on understanding the mechanisms underlying age-related skeletal muscle decline, particularly sarcopenia, and the role of neuromuscular junction degeneration, muscle fiber denervation, and cell interactions in muscle wasting. Her work integrates in vivo and in vitro approaches to study injury susceptibility, regenerative capacity, and protective adaptations in aging muscles.
