Elise Kim serves as a Flute Instructor at the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester, within the Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion department. She concurrently holds the position of third flute and piccolo with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra since September 2023.
Her academic foundation includes a Master of Music and Performer's Certificate from the Eastman School of Music under Bonita Boyd and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Washington with Donna Shin. Summer training encompassed Spoleto Festival USA, Aspen Music Festival, and Colorado College Summer Music Festival.
Ms. Kim maintains an active performance career as principal flute of the New York String Orchestra Seminar at Carnegie Hall and featured soloist with Eastern Music Festival Orchestra, UW Symphony Orchestra, Sewanee Summer Musical Festival Orchestra, and Philharmonia Northwest. Her artistic focus centers on flute repertoire development and orchestral performance practices.
