Allison Parramore serves as Lecturer in Music Performance at Ithaca College's School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, while also holding Artist-Teacher of Flute positions at the Longy School of Music (Bard College) and the University of Rhode Island. As a versatile performer, she holds Principal Flutist positions with the Boston Festival Orchestra and Second Flutist & Piccolo roles with the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, with extensive orchestral experience including the Boston Symphony, Detroit Symphony, and Boston Lyric Opera.
Her educational background features degrees from The Boston Conservatory and the University of Rhode Island, where she received the Kingston Chamber Music Award, Presser Scholarship, President Award for Musical Excellence, and won the 2010 Concerto Competition.
Parramore's professional focus centers on flute performance excellence across orchestral, chamber, and solo contexts. She actively promotes diversity through her recital series Raise Their Voices: Celebrating Female Composers while developing practical career pathways for musicians through her lecture Freelancing and Entrepreneurship: navigating the field from student to full-time music professional. Her work bridges technical artistry with professional development strategies for emerging musicians.
