Eleanor Stein

Eleanor Stein is an Adjunct Professor at Albany Law School, where she teaches Law of Climate Change: Domestic & Transnational, and at University at Albany (SUNY)’s Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy. She earned an LL.M. in Climate Change Law and Policy from Strathclyde University in 2015, graduating with distinction. Stein retired from the New York State Public Service Commission after 27 years of service, where she focused on energy policy reform. Her research and teaching emphasize climate change law, energy policy, and transnational approaches to environmental issues. She advocates for open discourse and role-based learning in her classes. She plans to collaborate with the Government Law Center on climate change projects, bridging academic and practical legal frameworks.
