Elayna Waxse serves as the Dayton Hudson Visiting Artist/Teacher in the Department of Theater and Dance at Carleton College, a position she has held since 2024. Her teaching portfolio spans Contemporary Dance Forms I-III and Moving Anatomy across fall, winter, and spring terms through academic year 2025-2026, with courses scheduled through Spring 2026.
As a choreographer and dance educator, Waxse creates narrative-driven works prioritizing storytelling, improvisation, and emotional authenticity. Her pedagogical approach cultivates studio environments grounded in empathy and compassion, where dancers integrate personal histories and identities into performance. Central to her practice is dismantling systemic inequities in dance through justice-oriented creative processes that model equitable societal structures.
