Eira Winrow is a Lecturer in Health Sciences and Programme Lead for the MSc Public Health & Health Promotion at Bangor University's School of Health Sciences. She also serves as Deputy Chair of the School's Ethics Committee. Her teaching focuses on Health Economics, Research Methods, Public Health & Health Promotion, and Epidemiology. She supervises MSc dissertations and PhD candidates.
Her research interests include child protection, health economics, and health intervention evaluation. She has contributed to studies on school-based violence prevention, rare dementia support programs, and refugee mental health interventions. Her work emphasizes mixed-methods research and policy impact analysis.
Key publications include evaluations of child abuse prevention programs, virtual support groups for rare dementia carers, and the cost-effectiveness of healthcare interventions. She has collaborated on projects like the NSPCC Speak out Stay safe initiative and the PROSPER feasibility trial for refugees.
Her recent work highlights innovative approaches to healthcare accessibility, such as digital support systems and low-intensity psychosocial interventions. She is also involved in policy-driven research, including programme budgeting and health system planning.
