Eduardo Silva holds the Friezo Foundation Chair in Political Science at Tulane University's School of Liberal Arts. His research specializes in Latin American political economy, sustainable development, and social movements.
Silva examines state-society relations, environmental governance, and mass mobilization patterns across Chile, Costa Rica, Mexico, Venezuela, and Andean countries. His publications analyze the political economy of resource extraction, environmental policy implementation, and post-neoliberal transformations.
Consultant to the Inter-American Development Bank and U.S. State Department, Silva has conducted extensive fieldwork on forest policy and development politics. He teaches courses in Latin American Governments, Comparative Politics, and Political Development.
