Edoardo Alberto Rossi

Edoardo Alberto Rossi is an Associate Professor of International Law at the Department of Law of University of Urbino "Carlo Bo" since 2024. He serves as Vice-Dean for International Relations (since 2023) and Erasmus Programme coordinator (since 2021). Previously, he was a Lecturer (2021-2024) and post-doctoral researcher (2016-2021) at the same university.

Rossi obtained his PhD in Human Rights and Social Fundamental Rights from University of Urbino "Carlo Bo" (2012-2016). He conducted research abroad at the Swiss Institute of Comparative Law in Lausanne with van Calker scholarship (2015) and the UCD Sutherland School of Law in Dublin (2022). He has been a visiting professor at University Jean Moulin Lyon III (2017), University of Malaga (2022), University of Nicosia (2023), and University of Seville (2023).

His research focuses on international protection of human rights (particularly the European Convention on Human Rights), private international law (covering both contractual and non-contractual obligations), and international commercial law. His work examines critical intersections between digital regulation, food security, human rights protection, and international trade frameworks. He has contributed to understanding how evolving EU regulations like the Digital Services Act and Digital Markets Act interact with private international law principles.

Rossi's scholarly output reveals significant engagement with contemporary legal challenges, particularly in digital governance, international trade law, and human rights protection. His recent publications demonstrate expertise in analyzing how international legal frameworks address emerging issues like disinformation, cultivated meat regulation, and platform liability in e-commerce. His work consistently bridges theoretical legal concepts with practical regulatory challenges facing states and international organizations.

Rossi has participated in international research projects including "Challenges to Democracy and Social Life in European Small States" (Erasmus+ KA2-KA204, 2018-2021) and "DAFNE-Democratic governance of Automated systems for Fake NEws" (financed by the Italian Ministry of University and Research PRIN, 2023-). At University of Urbino, he teaches International Law and European Union Law across multiple degree programs including Law, International Politics Society and Economics, and Legal Sciences for Labour and Public Administration.
