Luigia Rossi

Luigia Rossi is a Full Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Urbino Carlo Bo, serving as Deputy Director of the Department of Biomolecular Sciences (DISB) and President of the School of Biomolecular and Health Sciences. Her academic home is firmly established within the Department of Biomolecular Sciences at the University of Urbino, where she maintains an active research program and teaching schedule through the 2025/2026 academic year.

Professor Rossi's research focuses on innovative biochemical approaches to medical challenges, with particular emphasis on drug delivery systems utilizing red blood cells. Her work spans enzyme replacement therapies, metabolic disorder treatments, and novel applications of extracellular vesicles for therapeutic delivery. She has made significant contributions to understanding metabolic pathways related to creatine synthesis and phenylketonuria, as well as developing nutraceutical approaches to fibromyalgia management.
