Dr Ed Schreeche-Powell is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology and Programme Leader for the BSc Criminology and Criminal Psychology at the University of Greenwich, part of the School of Law and Criminology under the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He holds a 1st Class BSc (Hons) in Criminology and Psychology, an MA (Distinction) in Criminology from the University of Kent, and a PhD funded by the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship. His research focuses on prison systems, prisoner well-being, and power dynamics within penal institutions, informed by multi-site studies and theoretical frameworks like Power, Weight, Tightness, Depth, and Legitimacy.

Research Interests: Peer support in prisons, mental health interventions for prisoners, power dynamics in carceral settings, criminal justice policy reform, and forensic psychology applications in correctional environments.

Advising & Expertise: Acts as an expert witness on prison conditions in England and Wales, and serves on the HMPPS Lived Experience Engagement Network. His teaching spans criminology and forensic psychology modules at multiple institutions, including the Open University.
