Dr Rachele Girardi is a Lecturer in Criminology at the University of Greenwich, affiliated with the School of Law and Criminology under the Faculty of Law, Arts and Social Sciences. Her work intersects queer theory, carceral geography, and critical analyses of prisons.

Rachele's research focuses on queer resistance, gender and sexuality in carceral spaces, and prison abolition. Her recent article examines gender dynamics and agency in English women's prisons through document analysis.
