Douglas Trevor is a Professor of English Language and Literature at the University of Michigan’s College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. His dual focus spans creative writing and academic scholarship, particularly in early modern literature. He holds a PhD in Renaissance Literature from Harvard University (1999) and a BA from Princeton University (1992).
- Research & Creative Work: Trevor’s creative works include novels like Girls I Know (2013, Balcones Fiction Prize winner) and short story collections such as The Book of Wonders (2017). His academic work explores melancholy in early modern England and Renaissance literature, with contributions to Shakespeare Studies, Montaigne Studies, and Milton Studies.
- Teaching: Teaches courses on Shakespeare, Donne, and Milton at both graduate and undergraduate levels, including Introduction to Shakespeare and Shakespeare’s Principal Plays.
- Awards & Residencies: Theodore Morrison Fellow at Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, Ucross Foundation writer-in-residence, and recipient of the Iowa Short Fiction Award.
