Andrew Altschul is a Professor of English at Colorado State University, specializing in Creative Writing and Contemporary Literature. He teaches fiction workshops, narrative craft, and courses on 20th/21st century American literature. Previously directed the Center for Literary Arts at San Jose State University (2009-2015), and taught at Stanford University, Mills College, and the University of San Francisco. Holds a Wallace Stegner Fellowship and MFA from UC Irvine, alongside a BA from Brown University.

Research focuses on narrative innovation in contemporary fiction, blending literary tradition with modern themes.
