Douglas Koskela is a Professor of Theology at the School of Theology, Seattle Pacific University, specializing in systematic theology and the University Foundations curriculum. He has been affiliated with SPU since 2001.

Dr. Koskela's research focuses on Wesleyan theology, the epistemology of theology, vocation, and ecclesiology. His work explores theological frameworks through the lens of divine light, Christian doctrine, and scriptural authority.
His publications span topics in Wesleyan thought, ecumenical theology, and ecclesiastical practices. Notably, his book The Radiance of God: Christian Doctrine through the Image of Divine Light (2021) earned the Timothy L. Smith and Mildred Bangs Wynkoop Book Award.

Dr. Koskela is an ordained elder in the Pacific Northwest Conference of the Free Methodist Church and served as president of the Wesleyan Theological Society (2015-16). He is also a member of the American Academy of Religion.
