Dr. Douglas Hayes serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of English at Lakehead University, specializing in fifteenth- and sixteenth-century English and Scottish drama, poetry, and rhetoric. His work bridges academic scholarship with pedagogical innovation through teaching editions and anthologies.

Hayes' research centers on early drama and Older Scots poetry, with significant contributions to rhetorical studies and bibliography.
