Stephanie Amsel

Stephanie Amsel serves as a Teaching Professor and Director of the Writing and Reasoning Program (WRTR) at Southern Methodist University (SMU), where she has held faculty positions since 2009 after teaching in public and private schools across Italy, New York, and Texas.

Her academic credentials include:

• Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Texas at San Antonio
• Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the University of Texas at Austin

Specializing in Medieval English and Italian literature, Professor Amsel's scholarly profile extends to Women's studies, Feminist theory, Writing pedagogy, and Poetry. She maintains a significant role as the Chaucer bibliographer for the New Chaucer Society, producing annual annotated bibliographies published in Studies in the Age of Chaucer.
