Dr. Amanda Holton is a College Lecturer at multiple Oxford colleges including Jesus, Keble, Oriel, Queen's, Worcester, and Wadham. Her research focuses on medieval and early modern literature, particularly Chaucer, love lyric, and poetics. She explores how poetic form shapes meaning and challenges period divisions between medieval and early modern works. Her 2023 book Rhyme and the Construction of Love in English Lyric 1300-1579 (Oxford UP) examines rhyme's role in shaping love poetry's subjective expression. Current projects include studying anthologies of 'English verse' and their cultural projections. She has published widely on Chaucer, Tottel's Miscellany, and Renaissance poetry anthologies, combining textual scholarship with formal analysis.
