Douglas Ewing, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Marketing Department at Bowling Green State University's Schmidthorst College of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati (2010) and a B.S.B.A. in Management from Ohio Northern University (2004). His research focuses on identity and symbolic consumption, branding authenticity, implicit/explicit attitudes, evaluative conditioning, and automaticity in learning.
His academic career includes roles as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Cincinnati (2010-2012) and a Teaching Assistant during his doctoral studies. He has published extensively on topics like brand management, identity theory applications in education, and consumer behavior in retail environments. Notable works include analyses of Stardew Valley's entrepreneurship strategy (2022) and branding futures (2018).
Dr. Ewing received the 2010 AMA/Sheth Doctoral Consortium Fellowship Award.
