Douglas Cairns is Professor of Classics at the University of Edinburgh's School of History, Classics and Archaeology, a position he has held since 2004. Previously, he served as Head of Classics (2004-2005) and Head of School (2005-2008). His distinguished career includes faculty appointments at the University of Glasgow, University of Leeds, and University of Otago.
