Professor Bill Allan is a Professor of Greek and Fellow and Tutor at University College, University of Oxford. His academic journey includes teaching at Harvard University and visiting professorships in Germany and Aotearoa New Zealand. He holds an MA from the University of Edinburgh and a DPhil from the University of Oxford.

His research focuses on the literature and intellectual history of archaic and classical Greece. Key interests include Euripidean tragedy, Homeric epics, and early Greek poetry.
