Dr. Dorothy Todd is an Instructional Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University and Associate Digital Editor of the New Variorum Shakespeare. Her research focuses on early modern English drama, with a particular emphasis on Shakespeare, material culture, book history, and adaptation. She is editing Thomas Heywood’s Londini Status Pacatus for The Map of Early Modern London and is completing a book project exploring temporality in Shakespeare’s plays.
Dr. Todd holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Georgia (2017) and a B.A. from Washington and Lee University (2010). Her work bridges scholarly research and community engagement, exemplified by her service learning initiatives to make Shakespeare accessible to diverse audiences. She has published on funereal rituals in Pericles and the role of experiential learning in teaching Shakespeare.
Her research highlights the intersection of literature and society, emphasizing how canonical texts like Shakespeare’s plays remain culturally relevant through adaptation and community interaction. Her articles reflect a commitment to pedagogical innovation and democratizing access to literary heritage.
