Matthew Harrison is an Associate Professor in the Department of English, Philosophy, and Modern Languages at West Texas A&M University. He holds a B.A. in English from Columbia University (2005) and a Ph.D. in English Literature from Princeton University (2015). His research focuses on Shakespeare, early modern poetry, the English sonnet tradition, literary criticism, and digital humanities. He teaches courses on Renaissance literature, Shakespeare, poetry, and drama.
His work explores intersections between textual analysis and digital methods, with recent publications addressing Shakespearean drama (e.g., Pericles), sonnet sequences, and early modern lyric poetry. He has written critically on figures like Philip Sidney and Anne Killigrew, examining metaphors, spatial anchors in poetry, and biblical allusions.
Teaching responsibilities include Shakespeare seminars, poetry workshops, and drama studies. His scholarly contributions span peer-reviewed articles and book reviews, reflecting a commitment to both traditional literary analysis and innovative digital approaches.
