Eileen Sperry is a Visiting Assistant Professor in English at Skidmore College. She holds a PhD from Stony Brook University, an MA from Binghamton University, and a BA from New York University. Her teaching includes courses on Literary Methods, Shakespeare's Sonnets, Poetry, and thematic writing seminars like 'Doubt' and 'Deformed'.
Her research centers on Early Modern English literature, with specialized interests in plague narratives, poetic theory, and critical pedagogy. She actively explores intersections between literature and social issues through historical and contemporary lenses.
Award-winning publications focus on Shakespearean death imagery, Donne's metaphors, and plague literature. Recent works analyze bodily decay in lyric poetry and political power dynamics in Renaissance texts.
