Patricia Wareh is a Professor of English at Union College, affiliated with the English Department. Her research focuses on Shakespeare, Spenser, Renaissance poetry and drama, and their intersections with performance and popular culture. She holds a B.A. from the University of Florida and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
Her book, Courteous Exchanges: Spenser's and Shakespeare's Gentle Dialogues with Readers and Audiences (Manchester University Press, 2024), explores the interplay between Spenser and Shakespeare within Renaissance contexts of education, gender, religion, race, and aristocratic identity.
Her articles analyze themes like aristocratic performance in Renaissance drama, gender dynamics in Shakespearean plays, and textual interplay between Spenser and Shakespeare. These works highlight her expertise in literary analysis, historical contextualization, and cultural critique.
She has contributed to journals such as Renaissance Drama, Modern Philology, and Spenser Studies. Her research bridges canonical texts with modern adaptations and contemporary cultural discussions.
