Dorit Geva is a Professor for Politics and Gender at the University of Vienna, holding her position since January 2024. Previously, she was an Associate Professor (2014-2021) and Professor (2021-2023) at the Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology at Central European University, where she also served as Dean of Studies (2019-2022). Her academic journey includes fellowships at the European University Institute (2006-2007) and the University of Chicago (2007-2011). She holds a PhD and MA from New York University (1999-2006).

Her research focuses on how gender, sexuality, class, and race shape right-wing politics and the broader political right-shift in Europe. Areas of expertise include comparative politics, historical sociology, feminist political theory, and political sociology. She employs diverse methodologies such as political ethnography, archival research, interviews, and comparative methods, with a particular interest in state theories, masculinity, citizenship, and contemporary sovereignty transformations.
The 15 most recent publications highlight her engagement with European far-right movements, their anti-gender ideologies, populist strategies, and neoliberal critiques. Themes include conscriptive state-family dynamics, gendered political charisma, and anti-liberal educational projects, reflecting a cross-disciplinary focus on gendered power structures and political theory.
