Dorai Raj Appadorai

Dr. Dorai Raj Appadorai is the Assistant Dean (Year 3) at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine), NTU, and an adjunct Senior Lecturer. He serves as a Senior Consultant at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) in the Department of General Medicine and holds roles such as Core Clinical Faculty Member (CCFM) of Singapore’s national post-graduate Year 1 (PGY1) program, TTSH Wellbeing Officer, and committee member of TTSHope. He is also a faculty member of the NHG Simulation Instructor Course and adjunct faculty at the NHG College.

• Education: MBBS from Manipal University (2014), postgraduate training with the Royal College of Physicians (UK), and residency in Advanced Internal Medicine in Singapore.
• Pursuing a Master’s in Health Professions Education at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.

His clinical focus is Acute Internal Medicine, while his educational expertise centers on Simulation-based medical education. He actively contributes to undergraduate medical education, including summative exams (Year 3 and 5) and SBA Lead roles. Dr. Dorai is a recipient of multiple teaching and clinical excellence awards, including the TTSH Top Teacher Award (2020, 2021, 2024) and the NUS Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award (2021).

He oversees clinical and academic programs at LKCMedicine and TTSH, integrates simulation training, and advocates for clinician well-being. His work bridges clinical practice, medical education innovation, and healthcare workforce development.
