Donna Jolly is a faculty member in the Music Department at Meredith College since 1988, specializing in piano pedagogy and performance. She teaches applied piano and contributes to the Meredith College Community School of Music. Her career spans roles as a soloist, collaborator, and church organist, with extensive experience in orchestral performance and private instruction.
Education:
- M.M. in Piano Pedagogy and Performance, Meredith College
- B.M. in Piano Pedagogy and Piano Performance (with Organ minor), East Carolina University
Research & Performance: Jolly's work focuses on piano performance, pedagogy, and collaborative music. She has performed nationally and internationally, including with the North Carolina Symphony since 1989 and as organist at First Baptist Church Raleigh (1987–2019).
Awards:
- 1972 Marie Morrisey Keith National Collegiate Competition Winner (performed at Atlantic City's national convention and across North Carolina).
Professional Roles: Maintained private teaching studios in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Collaborated with instrumentalists and vocalists in recitals and theater/choral productions across the U.S. and Europe.
Labs/Teams: Active with the North Carolina Symphony as an orchestral pianist and previously with First Baptist Church Raleigh as organist.
