Dimitris Kairidis holds the position of Professor of International Relations at Panteion University in Athens, Greece, and serves as the Scientific Advisor to the "Constantinos G. Karamanlis" Foundation. Since July 2019, he has been an active Member of Parliament representing the Northern Sector of Athens. His academic and public engagements include directing the "Olympia Summer Academy of Political Science and International Relations" since 2002 and previously leading the "Navarino Network" in Thessaloniki from 2009 to 2019.
Professor Kairidis is a prominent scholar in International Relations with research interests encompassing Foreign Policy, Balkan Studies, Modern Greek History, Nationalism, and Ethnic Conflicts. His extensive publications include authoritative works such as "The Historical Dictionary of Modern Greece" (2009, 2019), "The Dictatorship of the Colonels: Anatomy of a Seven-Year Period" (2019), and "Nationalism, Ethnic Conflicts and International Relations-Theory and Practice in the Balkans" (2015), which demonstrate his expertise in Greek political history and regional dynamics.
Beyond academia, Kairidis actively contributes to public discourse through his television program analyzing international current affairs on Action 24 TV and a daily column on Onalert.gr/Newsit.gr. He has held significant roles including professor at the Fletcher School of Tufts University, director of the Kokkalis Program at Harvard University, and scientific advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, underscoring his influence in both scholarly and policy-making circles.
