Dimitris Keridis serves as Professor of International Politics at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences in Athens, Greece. He concurrently holds elected office as a member of the Hellenic Parliament (Athens-North constituency) since July 2019, directs the Olympia Summer Academy in Politics and International Studies, and contributes as a senior fellow at the Konstantinos G. Karamanlis Foundation and regular TV political commentator.
His research centers on International Relations with specialized expertise in foreign policy analysis across Greece, Turkey, and the United States. Key investigation areas include Balkan geopolitical dynamics, European integration processes, nationalism studies, and ethnic conflict resolution within Southeastern Europe. His scholarly approach consistently integrates historical context with contemporary policy challenges, particularly regarding regional leadership emergence and identity politics in transnational frameworks.
Publication trends from 2009-2011 reveal concentrated analysis of Southeastern European foreign policy architectures, examining Turkey's regional ascendancy, Greek strategic positioning, and US global engagement patterns. These works demonstrate methodological emphasis on historical-institutional analysis while addressing contemporary security dilemmas and identity formation in multi-ethnic political spaces.
Professor Keridis maintains significant institutional leadership through the Olympia Summer Academy (directed since 2002), which convenes international scholars for interdisciplinary dialogue, and formerly led the Navarino Network public policy think-tank (2009-2019). These initiatives establish platforms for bridging academic research with practical policy formulation in international relations, featuring collaborative networks across governmental, academic, and civil society sectors throughout the Mediterranean region.
