Angelos Syrigos is a Professor at Panteion University in Athens, specializing in International Relations and Foreign Policy. He holds a Doctor of Laws from the University of Bristol (1994) and previously worked at the University of Cambridge's Research Centre for International Law. Syrigos has extensive public service experience, including roles as Secretary General of Population and Social Cohesion (Ministry of Interior), Vice President of the National Telecommunications Commission, and advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Greek-Turkish relations.
Research Focus: Syrigos' work centers on International Law with specific emphasis on maritime zones, minority rights, Greek-Turkish diplomacy, Balkan geopolitics, and conflict resolution. His expertise spans law of the sea, Cyprus negotiations, Muslim minority frameworks, and historical territorial disputes.
Publications: His recent scholarship (2004-2012) predominantly analyzes Greek-Turkish relations, maritime boundaries, Cyprus peace processes, and Balkan conflict resolution.
