Dick van der Meij

Dick van der Meij is a Research Fellow at the University of Hamburg's Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures (CSMC) and Project Coordinator for DREAMSEA (Digital Repository of Endangered and Affected Manuscripts in Southeast Asia). His work focuses on preserving endangered manuscripts through digitization initiatives across Southeast Asia.

As a Petra Kappert Fellow, he specializes in Indonesian and Malay manuscript studies, developing strategies to safeguard written cultural heritage. His research documents manuscript collections in vulnerable regions and establishes digital preservation protocols.
