Prof. Dhirendra Pal Singh serves as Chancellor of Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), a premier deemed university under India's Ministry of Education. With nearly four decades of experience, he previously served as Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) from 2018-2021 and led three universities as Vice-Chancellor: Banaras Hindu University, Dr. H. S. Gour University, and Devi Ahilya University. His career centers on transforming India's higher education landscape through strategic leadership and policy innovation.

Prof. Singh specializes in higher education ecosystem development, focusing on academic excellence, administrative efficiency, and technology-enabled learning environments.
